Ariat helps Charlotte Agnew make the first step to professional Eventing

Ariat, are proud to announce their recent association with talented young event rider, Charlotte Agnew.
Already well known for supporting professional riders across all disciplines, Marketing Manager of Ariat Europe, Melanie Selman, was keen to support Charlotte Agnew, especially in her first season competing as a full time event rider.

Up until recently, 23 year old Charlotte was based in Scotland and juggled studying English Literature at Edinburgh University with competing. After finishing her degree with a 2:1 last year, the dedicated rider threw herself in to full-time Eventing and has built up a string of horses to compete in 2011.

To further her Eventing career Charlotte made the bold decision to move her base from Scotland to Oxfordshire in January 2011, “I am now based with the Blanchard family and my aim for this year is to get my name out and gain some new rides,” she says. “Being based here has made life a lot easier from the travelling point of view but it has certainly made me up my game as I am surrounded by top riders and have to ensure I am constantly competitive!”

From immediate effect Ariat will be supporting Charlotte in her quest for Eventing success, “I am so excited to be part of the team,” she tells us. “It is fantastic to have the support of such a good brand and particularly one that is already so well recognised in the sport. I feel very lucky to have amazing boots and chaps to ride in, as well as the technical clothing – something I couldn’t be without in the great British climate!”

The team at Ariat are looking forward to being part of the support network for Charlotte, “We are very impressed with her commitment to Eventing and feel she represents our brand well,” says Melanie. “Riders like Charlotte should be given a helping hand to gain the recognition they deserve and we believe she will be one of the names to watch over the coming years.”

Since the start of her competitive career, Charlotte has notched up some impressive results including team gold and fourth individually at the Young Rider Europeans, 39th in her first ever four star event at Badminton and 5th place at Blair Castle in the International CCI***. Charlotte’s top horse, Out of Africa, is being aimed for the Under 25 CIC*** at Bramham this year and then hopefully Blenheim at the end of this season. Look out for Charlotte sporting the Ariat brand!
